LPWA4IoT 2017 - IEEE Workshop on Low Power Wide Area networking technologies for emerging Internet of Things (LPWA4IoT)
Topics/Call fo Papers
IEEE Workshop on Low Power Wide Area networking technologies for emerging Internet of Things (LPWA4IoT)
Organized in conjunction with IEEE Globecom 2017
4 December 2017, Singapore
http://www.ic2lab.com/LPWA4IoT.html
As one of the fastest growing technologies in the emerging Internet of Things (IoT) environment, Low Power Wide Area (LPWA) networks are expected to realize IoT applications and to provide ubiquitous connectivity for Smart Cities or rural areas. Currently, the available LPWA communication technologies include a large variety of alternatives such as IEEE 802.11ah, IEEE 802.15.4ak/ag, Long Range Low Power (LRLP), 3GPP Narrow-Band IoT (NB-IoT), Long-Term Evolution for Machines (LTE-M), Extended Coverage GSM for IoT (EC-GSM-IoT), LoRaWAN, Sigfox, IETF 6LPWA/LP-WAN, ETSI Low Throughput Networks (LTN) and Weightless.
To catch up with this tendency, the LPWA4IoT Workshop will provide a general platform for relevant communities of LPWA networking technologies and protocols to interact, to exchange technical ideas and to propose efficient solutions by first identifying relevant challenges like device energy autonomy, extended coverage, scalability, security as well as low device and deployment cost. With this context, the Workshop aims at bringing together scientists, engineers, standardization professionals, policy makers, researchers, practitioners, and students to present their latest research results, visions, ideas, and developments in LPWA networking technologies. Researchers and professionals are encouraged to submit original research and standardization relevant contributions that cover a variety of topics including, but not limited to:
- IEEE (802.11ah, 802.15.4ak/ag, LRLP)
- 3GPP (NB-IoT, LTE-M, EC-GSM-IoT)
- LoRaWAN
- Sigfox
- IETF (6LPWA/LP-WAN)
- ETSI (LTN)
- Weightless
- LPWA Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communications
- Security and privacy issues for LPWA communications
- LPWA deployments, platforms, test-beds and field trials
- Business models, scenarios and applications of LPWA networks
- Green and energy efficient LPWA technologies
- Standardization activities for LPWA communications
****Submission Procedure****
Submitted papers must represent original material which is not currently under review in any other conference or journal and has not been previously published. Paper length should not exceed five-page standard IEEE conference two-column format (including all text, figures, and references). Please see the Author Information page for submission guidelines in the IEEE GLOBECOM 2017 website. All submitted papers will go through a peer review process. All accepted and presented papers will be included in the IEEE GLOBECOM 2017 proceedings and IEEE digital library. IEEE reserves the right to exclude an accepted and registered but not presented paper from the IEEE digital library.
