International Conference on Companion Technology (ICCT)
Ulm, Germany, September 11-13, 2017
Submission deadline: July 15, 2017
http://icct2017.companion-technology.org
ICCT 2017 invites submissions of POSITION PAPERS to its technical paper track. Position papers must not exceed 2 pages and should relate to an ongoing research or experience. They are intended to communicate research results from work-in-progress to the field, thereby offering a discussion forum especially for young scientists and PhD students. An option for a subsequent full paper is given, see below.
ABOUT ICCT
Companion Technology is an emerging field of cross-disciplinary research that aims at a paradigm shift in human-technology interaction by enabling technical systems of any kind to smartly adapt their services to the individual needs, requests, situation, emotion, and disposition of users. Companion Technology covers and combines trans-disciplinary research in fields such as computer science and artificial intelligence, cognitive science, engineering, psychology, and neurobiology. Its application areas include digital assistance, cognitive robotics, health and elderly care, intelligent environments and homes as well as driver assistance and autonomous driving.
INVITED SPEAKERS
Confirmed invited keynote speakers of the conference are
• Julia Hirschberg, Columbia University, NY, USA
• Louis-Philippe Morency, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh PA, USA
• Klaus Bengler, Technical University Munich, Germany
SUBMISSION AND PUBLICATION, WITH 2 PAPER OPTIONS
Position paper submission invites two-page extended abstracts formatted according to the IEEE Conference Publications Style und uploaded electronically through the conference website http://icct2017.companion-technology.org/
The abstracts will be reviewed and, if successful, be included in the conference proceedings of ICCT 2017. The proceedings will be published by the IEEE Computer Society and will also appear in the IEEE Digital Library. At least one author of each accepted paper is required to present the paper at the conference.
In addition, successful authors will be given the opportunity to submit a full paper after the conference, which allows to include findings from discussions with conference participants and colleagues. The full paper undergoes an independent review and, if successful, will replace the two-page abstract in the proceedings.
