The AMEE 2009 Conference will incorporate the XIXth SEDEM Meeting. It will take place in the City of M¨¢laga, located in the south of Spain on the Costa del Sol.
AMEE 2009 will offer a rich conference program providing a variety of opportunities and experiences to allow participants to explore both the breadth and depth of educational ideas for all involved in medical education and the healthcare professions.
The following topics will be discussed:
Advances in medical education and the application of new learning technologies and approaches to curriculum development;
The continuum of education from undergraduate through postgraduate to continuing medical education;
Medical education in a global world: including models of international medical education and approaches to standards and accreditation;
The relation between health care delivery and the training of health care professionals;
Outcome based education and competence assessment programmes including an appraisal of new approaches, such as workplace based assessment;
The opportunity to hear about developments in medical education in Spain and Iberoamerica.

14 January 2009 - Late date to submit abstracts for research in medical education papers and PhD Reports
3 March 2009 - notification of acceptance of research paper abstracts
13 March 2009 - Last date to submit abstracts for short communications, posters, conference workshops, Fringe presentations and Secrets of Success
30 April 2009 - notification of acceptance of abstracts; Close of nominations for Miriam Friedman Ben David New Educator Award
31 May 2009 - End of early registration; last date for abstract presenters to register to ensure inclusion in the programme
15 July 2009 - Last date to reserve tours and social events
