The one factor that has surfaced as the single most influential component of an effective school is the individual teachers within that school (Marzano 2007). Established theories and new instructional supervisory techniques are dictating a paradigm shift in the process of instructional supervision (Benigno 2017). The recent initiatives involving the effective and formative supervision of instruction in the public school systems essentially require more than just effective models of supervision. Transformational strategies that include the development of trust, empowerment, the recognition of success and the active administrative presence within the process should be established to enhance the formative development of the supervision process. This transformational process and paradigm shift are validated by the Leader-Member Exchange and Path-Goal Theories both of which illuminate the process and support collaborative and collegial participation. To develop a truly transformational campus with a culture that supports collaboration, collegial conversation and empowerment, school leaders must enhance the relationship between the teacher and the school administration by developing an emotional intelligence that will sustain that imperative relationship. You may participate as presenter of one paper, chair or/and organizer of a session, or observer.
