ICIAM 2011 - 7th International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics - ICIAM 2011

July 18 ? 22, 2011, mathematical scientists from around the world will gather in Vancouver, BC, Canada for the 7th International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics - ICIAM 2011. The Congress will take place at the state-of-the-art Vancouver Convention Centre on the waterfront in the heart of the city.
ICIAM 2011 will highlight the most recent advances in the discipline and demonstrate their applicability to science, engineering and industry. In addition to the traditional, strong focus on applied mathematics, the congress will emphasize industrial applications and computational science in new and emerging topic areas identified by panels of top international scientists. Industrial mathematics will be featured prominently through an integrated program which will highlight the many outstanding contributions of applied mathematics. ICIAM 2011 will also be an opportunity to demonstrate to young researchers and graduate students the vast potential of mathematics.
Key features of the Congress include:
Thematic minisymposia across the breadth of applied and industrial mathematics
Contributed talks
Industrial mathematics. There will be a focus on application of mathematics to problems arising from industry, the economy and society
Poster sessions consisting of research posters presented by students, academics and industry.
Embedded and satellite meetings. The CAIMS, MITACS and SIAM Annual Meetings will be held concurrently with the Congress.
Educational activities will be organized targeted to the large number of students expected to attend.
Public outreach sessions will be organized in the forms of public lectures, interactive displays, special activities for representatives from government agencies and departments, and press activities.
Exhibits. Exhibitors will be housed in the central gathering area to maximize exposure.
ICIAM 2011 is being organized by the Canadian Applied & Industrial Mathematics Society (CAIMS), MITACS (Mathematics of Information Technology & Complex Systems) and the Society for Industrial & Applied Mathematics (SIAM).
