ACSEAC 2011 - Call for Demos and Posters ACSEAC 2010
Topics/Call fo Papers
ACSEAC seeks to provide a strong platform for showcasing exciting work in the field of Software Engineering and Applied Computing. The poster and demo session will be an integral part of this conference, providing an opportunity for researchers and developers to demonstrate exciting work, and any other innovative early ideas. This opportunity will in turn give authors and attendees a forum for exchanging experiences and establishing potential future collaborations.
Different types of poster submissions are welcome. These can range from descriptions of completed research and work in progress to more technical topics and practical applications. Please note that demos are intended to convey a scientific result or work in progress and that they are not intended as advertisements for software packages.
Each presenter is required to set up a poster-board presentation, to be complemented by a short oral presentation (10 minutes), highlighting the uniqueness of their on-going work. Presenters are required to set up their poster-board presentations at least 2 hours before the official starting time of the session, which will be announced with the final Conference Program. Poster-board displays should be no larger than 3 x 4 feet. Easels will be supplied for display. Presenters must furnish all other supplies necessary to display their work.
Topics covered in this track will closely align with the overall scope of the conference.
Submissions
Abstracts of accepted Demos and Posters will appear in the regular conference proceedings. A good example on how to create an attractive poster is available here. It is advised that you are as specific as possible in describing what you will be demonstrating. It is a common occurrence that a poster need not describe completed work. Rather, it should report on research for which at least preliminary results are available.
A poster can be provided in addition to a paper accepted for presentation in the research track, or it can be used to present work that was insufficiently mature and thus not accepted there.
The demo session will have a table per demo, power, and wireless connectivity available. If a demonstration requires special arrangements in addition to the above, please describe them clearly in the demo abstract submission.
Abstracts can be emailed to the respective chairs of this session (demo[-AT-]acseac.org)
Selection process:
Submissions will be evaluated based on technical merit and innovation as well as their potential to stimulate interesting discussions and exchange of ideas at the conference. Decisions will be made by a committee of three researchers selected by the chair of the Posters and Demo session.
In the case of papers written by more than one author, at least one of the authors must be a registered participant at the conference, and attend the Poster and Demo session to present the work.
What to submit:
Prospective presenters must submit a short proposal by the due date. Proposals should include author names, a brief description of the problem being addressed, the work’s contributions and main results, and whether any videos or demos will be shown.
If the proposal is based on a single, previously published paper, an electronic copy of the paper can be submitted in lieu of the above.
Links to websites describing the project, and/or links to videos and demos are highly encouraged.
