E2DC 2017 - 6th International Workshop on Energy Efficient Data Centres (E2DC 2017)

6th international workshop on energy efficient data centres (E2DC 2017) is an established agile platform for researchers in government, academia and industry. Our goal is to identify and emphasize cutting-edge research and to discuss how to transfer innovations from research to DC industry. As in previous years the workshop deals with data centers in ecosystems, e.g. the use of renewables, integration with smart grids, heat re-use, energy and thermal storage, etc. In addition to technical advances the workshop will also focus on approaches to increase actual adoption of energy efficient technologies in data centres, also those with traditionally low uptake. To achieve it, appropriate incentives, metrics and business models are needed. Importantly, E2DC 2017 will continue the discussion of topics from 2016, regarding the potential of specialization (IT hosting for industry production) or collaboration of DCs (like distributed or edge data centres). The workshop will also keeps on investigating energy efficiency of data centres within the context of computing disciplines such as HPC, Big data analytics, distributed applications and traditional office applications.
