Introduction
An intelligent transportation system aims to improve the efficiency and safety of travelling by consolidating the operations of vehicles, managing vehicle traffic and help drivers with alert and safety messages. VANET is used to provide the updated and dynamic information about the conditions of road traffic so that number of road accidents can be minimized. Vehicles can collect, transmit and interpret the information through wide range of sensors, computing and communication resources, therefore assist in the computation and acquisition of data and facilitates drivers to take appropriate actions. However, most of the times, VANET resources are underutilized. Vehicular Cloud Computing is the paradigm that facilitates the optimization of these resources. It consists of a group of nearby vehicles and roadside infrastructure cooperating with each other in order to share the resources of computing, sensing and communication for decision making on the road to improve intelligent tranasportation System (ITS).
VCC is still in its infancy stage of research and need to be explored more. The objective of the book is to publish papers studying this emerging paradigm of Vehicular cloud computing. Contributed submissions to this book may present novel ideas, models, system design and architecture, security and privacy, QoS issues, big data analysis and performance evaluation techniques etc.
This comprehensive and timely publication aims to be an essential reference source, building on the available literature in the field of VCC while providing for further research opportunities in this upcoming field. It is hoped that this text will provide the essential knowledge for efficient VCC architecture.
Objective
Research on Vehicular cloud computing is interdisciplinary that is very much supporting Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) applications. It involves several disciplines such as advances in wireless communication and VANET technology, sensor technology, cloud computing, big data analytics, artificial intelligence and many others. The concept of VCC is new and attaining growing interest from the research community. The objective of the book is to publish papers studying this emerging paradigm of Vehicular cloud computing. Contributed submissions to this book may present novel ideas, models, system design and architecture, security and privacy, QoS issues, big data analysis and performance evaluation techniques etc.

Target Audience
The book will adopt multidisciplinary approach and present both theoretical and practical approaches in order to target mass audience. The book will be useful to academicians, researchers, Under Graduate and Post Graduate students, technology developers, policy makers and government officials. This book will provide the readers with the essential research exposure about pertinent topics in vehicular cloud computing by presenting chapters about concepts, models, technologies, approaches, methodologies and its practices. It will also cover other issues of VCC e.g. security and privacy, big data analysis, Quality of service and performance evaluation etc
