Overview: This webinar will explore the application of a straight-forward, powerful approach to leadership. The starting premise is that different people and differing situations require different approaches on the part of the leader or supervisor. This prevents the "one size fits all" approach that often results in lack of leadership (laissez-faire) or too heavy-handed an approach (micro-managing).
We will start by examining how we have historically looked at leadership and why very little of practical use has emerged from centuries of inquiry. From there we will see how versatile leadership filled an important gap in our understanding and practice
We will then examine the model and the tools available to the leader. From there we will explore our own preferred leadership approach and understand when it is appropriate and when it is not.
Finally, we will explore a variety of scenarios and employees to see how the model might be applied in real-life situations. This will then provide participants with the tools to translate the theory into real-world effective leadership practices designed to motivate employees and ensure job success.
Why should you attend: Supervision is a delicate balance between too little (laissez-faire) and too much (micro-managing). We also realize that different situations and different employees require different approaches. The key is to use the right approach with the appropriate person in the correct situation.
Versatile leadership is the simple, readily understandable tool which will help supervisors effectively manage and assist employees in "being all they can be" - maximizing their motivation and contributions to the parent organization.
The webinar will present the versatile leadership model and demonstrate its applicability in a wide variety of employment situations. We will start by examining our own preferred leadership style and demonstrate the consequences of overusing one style and neglecting others. From that point we will explore the r4elationship between the employee and situation to see how it should influence our leadership approach.
Finally, we will have an opportunity to apply the model to a series of real-life situations to maximize the probability of a successful outcome and an appropriately supervised, competent employee.
