SCOPE
Networks and optical systems are often invisible to end users, who use wireless devices. Increasingly, we are talking about the wireless transmission of optical access networks in particular in the home networks. On the other hand, user demands for network speed, quality and security of the transmission are growing. At the same time they need access to more and better matched the information that you need to quickly and efficiently process. The operators of telecommunication networks and services must meet these requirements. The data is processed and stored in data centers in which to transmit information optical networks are increasingly used. These networks can be software defined. Data centers need to connect with each other via high-speed fiber-optic networks using different transmission techniques. Information between the fibers must be switched quickly and efficiently in the nodes of a network by optical switching fabrics. In addition, the transmission and switching want to consume less energy per bit. These and many other issues related to optical network and systems is considered in modern research activities. We invite all interested parties to present their research results within the Optical Network and Systems Symposium during ICC 2017.
