PWS 2016 - International Workshop on Pervasive Welfare Solutions (PWS16)
Topics/Call fo Papers
The 1st International Workshop on Pervasive Welfare Solutions (PWS16) provides an international forum on the latest technologies and research in the field of Pervasive Welfare. Most people have access to some form of mobile devices, and these devices are becoming successively more powerful, and along with expectations, able to do more and more. We are living and working within environments that can support, both computationally and technologically, many ancillary features. Traditionally welfare has not been a key concern for computing systems, however as pervasive spaces become more prevalent, the concept of Pervasive Welfare will become more important. This area highlights the importance of pervasive security, health and wellbeing. Currently, we can utilise RFID tag technologies to indicate security; we can use biometric techniques within both health and security to check for well-being, subsequently, the future for pervasive welfare is very bright. We have the technology to create pervasive welfare systems ranging from medical facilities to childcare and by incorporating both academic and industry partners we can pave the way to a more pervasive future.
PMS 2016 will be held in London, UK (19-22 September 2016) in conjunction with the 7th International Conference on Emerging Ubiquitous Systems and Pervasive Networks (EUSPN-2016).
Scope
The aim of the proposed workshop is to enhance profitable discussions between industry and academics on what pervasive welfare techniques, software, methodologies and hardware are being explored.
Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
Pervasive Personal Security
Environmental Security
Pervasive Health Monitoring
Ethical, Legal and Social issues within Pervasive Welfare.
Pervasive Welfare Architectures
Methodologies of Deployment for Pervasive Welfare.
Pervasive Welfare Applications
Smart Pervasive Welfare
Pervasive Welfare and Personalization
Location-Based Services for Pervasive Welfare
