Key Take Away
This webinar will give you valuable information to build a strong safety and health program, tips to surviving an OSHA audit, and how to negotiate with OSHA to reduce fines.
Overview
OSHA audits can be a source of stress and frustration if the employer does not know what to expect. When a workforce is ill prepared to identify and mitigate hazards, an OSHA inspection process can be costly. Many fines can be prevented through getting supervisors and workers to recognize hazards and take action. If hazards can’t be eliminated, then they must be controlled through engineering means, administrative work rules, or personal protective equipment.
Each inspection can be predictable and defensible for the trained workplace. This webinar will teach attendees best practices to survive the OSHA audit and citation. Attendees will learn how to immediately spot violations in the workplace and how to correct them to OSHA standards. In addition, the attendee will be made aware of the most frequent violations, compliance strategies, and the defense against citation.
OSHA has a playbook that is used by each compliance and safety officer, the attendees will learn how to obtain a copy for free and tips for learning the content. The playbook is referred to as the Field Operations Manual (FOM). FOM training is the key to OSHA compliance inspections, because the compliance safety and health officer must follow the procedures outlined in the manual.
Moreover, this webinar will give practical steps to an effective Injury and Illness Prevention Program (I2P2) as a tool to bring your company to compliance after a citation. Through an effective safety and health program employers can prove to OSHA that they are compliant and have the worker’s interest at heart. Management commitment and employee involvement are complementary in taking ownership of a safety program.
Why Should You Attend
Recently, OSHA issued over 40,000 citations for safety violations in the workplace. In one example, a HVAC company was fined over $1.2 million for recordkeeping violations. Many organizations have learned to comply with OSHA regulations and have avoided fines and citations when audited by OSHA.
Imagine that OSHA showed up at your place of business today. What would you do? How would you handle the audit? Frightening perhaps to think about, but in reality there is no need to fear an OSHA visit - if you understand compliance and your organization’s responsibilities.
This webinar will help attendees better understand health and safety compliance issues for their organization and they will never fear OSHA again.
