Overview
Bare Bones Leadership is for middle managers who are striving to be more effective leaders. We are constantly asked to manage and lead and many of us don’t know how to switch gears. But it’s simple.
This webinar is full of tools that will help you cut to the bone and recognize how to enhance your current tool set. These basics, when practiced (and I mean practiced) will take the mystery out of team leader skills. Remember, a manager is a leader who happens to work closer to the oars, but still practices leadership competencies.
This webinar is interactive. Be prepared to remove your superfluous outer layers to participate actively so that the time spent is relevant to your unique needs for learning. Learning is knowledge translated into action. Please think of a challenging encounter with a team mate. Or a shift you want to make but aren’t sure how to get started. Or taking your best shot at approaching a current issue on your team.
Why Should You Attend
This webinar is for middle managers who are new to the position and for veteran managers who want to hone their skills. Being in the middle means you manage up and down. You are constantly coping with change and complexity.
You can’t be expected to know it all. But your team members should add up to the knowledge and experience base you need to achieve goals. You are the person who makes this happen, effectively or not. You must get the most out of your team members by improving team performance.
We all have comfort zones and discomfort zones. We got to where we are today by depending on a comfortable tool set. But that may not be the tool set to take us into the changing marketplace. We are responsible for constant sense making of changing market conditions and organizational change management. If we want something we’ve never had, we have to do something we’ve never done. We must give ourselves permission to learn. It means admitting that we do not know. That can be a scary and exciting place to be.
This webinar reduces the fear factor by working through simple examples that will be applied to your unique challenges. You will recognize yourself in these examples and realize you are not alone in learning, changing and growing.
Areas Covered in this Webinar
You, The Super Middle Manager - You’re almost there! You don’t have to be Abe Lincoln or Dr. King to be an effective manager/leader
We will also look at a basic behaviour shift model on leadership skills training, that takes the mystery out of improvement for you and your team members. Just ask: “what do I want to start doing and what do I want to let go of?” Sprinkle in a little willingness and ability, identify a couple of resolvable barriers, and off you go.
