Topics/Call fo Papers

The Argentine Association of Digital Humanities/Asociación Argentina de Humanidades Digitales (AAHD) invites researchers, professors and students to participate in its International Conference: Digital Humanities. Local Constructions in Global Contexts, to be held at Centro Cultural General San Martin in Buenos Aires, 7-9 November, 2016.
Digital Humanities are a growing scientific field in Europe and North America. In the Hispanic world, Digital Humanities are still a heterogeneous group of initiatives that articulate different cultural heritages. However, they are gradually being incorporated into the university curriculum and research activities across different disciplines and communication channels. This adaptation of the Digital Humanities into Humanidades Digitales has led to the development of different research lines and to the construction of a plural and dynamic community that puts theories, practices and new objects in circulation, not only inside the Academy but also in outlying areas and through new ways of organization. Thus, global guidelines intersect with local conditions, leading to new experiences that are steadily defining the field.
We invite the scholarly community in the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences to join this first international conference on the subject in our country. Journalists, makers, programmers, computer scientists are also welcome to attend. The aim is to discuss the characteristics both of global and local Digital Humanities.
1. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
● Social, cultural, economic, institutional, historical and ideological aspects of Digital Humanities.
