SPECIAL ISSUE ON: Device-to-Device Communication in 5G Networks
ACM/Springer Mobile Networks & Applications (MONET)
http://www.springer.com/engineering/signals/journa...
Overview:
Device-to-device (D2D) communication technology for fifth generation
(5G) mobile networks enables user equipment (UE) to communicate directly
with other UEs without or with partial involvement of the network
infrastructure, such as mobile access points or mobile base stations.
To achieve the device-centric communication envisaged for 5G networks,
there is a need for a fundamental change in the design structure of
current cellular networks. In this special issue, we intend to broadly
cover various aspects of D2D communication in 5G networks. The purpose
of this special issue is thus to bring together state-of-the-art studies
by researchers and practitioners that describe original and unpublished
work with respect to novel scalable techniques and frameworks that are
capable to analyze and shape the future of device-centric communication
in the next generation of mobile communication.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following scope:
- Network's device search and interface methodology for D2D networks
- Delay and latency aspects for D2D networks
- Energy efficient green networking D2D communication
- QoE / QoS for D2D communication
- WiFi-Direct, WLAN-Direct, and cellular technology for D2D network
- M2M over D2D using cellar interface in 5G communication
- Nature inspired algorithms for D2D communication
- Channel modulation (using PHY/MAC/IP layer) for 5G networks.
- Cloud computing for D2D communication
- Intelligent control mechanism for D2D communication
- Human and machine centric communication for D2D networks
- Context-aware communication for D2D networks
- Mathematical modeling, optimization techniques for D2D in 5G not
limited to stochastic and movements model for communication
- Network and relay management in D2D communication
- MIMO and millimeter wave system systems for D2D communication
- Heterogeneous network interfaces (not limited to SDN and system
architecture) for D2D communication
