Today, more and more issues are arising in science, engineering, economics,
finance, and social science involving high-dimensional data. This event
will bring together researchers developing methodology for the analysis
of high-dimensional data and important applications generating problems
involving the analysis of high-dimensional data such as genomics, brain
imaging, and environmental problems.
The proposed workshop will be the 6th in a sequence of workshops on the
Perspectives on High-dimensional Data Analysis:
HDDA-I, Fields Institute, 2011
HDDA-II, Centre de Recherches Mathématiques, 2012
HDDA-III, University of British Columbia, 2013
HDDA-IV, Banff International Research Station, 2014
HDDA-V, University of Victoria, 2015
This series of workshops is thus well established and has involved many
of the most eminent researchers working in the area, with the 6th installment
returning to the Fields Institute and expected to be as successful as it
predecessors.
The primary objectives of the workshop are thus summarized as follows:
To discuss inference, model selection and computation for the analysis
of high-dimensional data, highlight open problems, and to identify key
avenues for research in theory, computation, and applications.
To provide the opportunity for highly qualified personnel, including
students, to interact with leading researchers in working on both theory
and applications.
Student poster event: each of the 10 invited student participants will
present a poster outlining their research during lunch on the second day
of the workshop.
