The Board of the Directors for the annual Applied Geography Conferences sincerely invites you to participate and present your research and share professional experiences at the 39th annual Applied Geography Conference, to be held in Louisville, KY in October 2016. For the 39th time, the conference provides a great forum for academics and practitioners of Geography to gather and share and exchange their knowledge, experience, and research. For more information on the logistics of the conference, please visit the conference website.
We welcome presentations in any subfield of Geography that showcase the applications of theories, concepts and analytical methods in Geography. Presentations in previous conferences include, but not limited to, Applied Climatology, Business and Retail Geography, Geospatial Sciences and Technology, Geography Education, Environmental Studies, Medical/Health Geography, Natural Hazards, Race & Ethnicity, Water Resources and Environmental Policy, Military Geography, and Census Geography.
The conference journal, Papers in Applied Geography, welcomes contributions year round. Authors need not attend Applied Geography Conferences in order to submit manuscripts for consideration for publication in the journal. This journal publishes three types of articles: Research Articles (~9,000 words, full length journal articles), Application Articles (~4,000 words, focusing on demonstrating applications of Geography concepts/theories/methods to solve practical problems in societies), and Technical Notes (~3,000 words, on developing new or extending existing analytical methods in Geography).
