EuroGeo5 2012 - 5th European Geosynthetics Congress
Topics/Call fo Papers
From the 16th to 19th of September, 2012, Valencia will be the host of EuroGeo5, the 5th European Geosynthetics Congress organized by the Spanish Chapter of the International Geosynthetics Society (IGS) and with the collaboration of other institutions, both public and private.
Due to the success of previous congresses, this fifth congress seeks to become an international benchmark forum on recent developments in the field of Geosynthetics. Opportunities for hands-on participation by the attending technicians with respect to the communication technology contributions are expected at this event. This, along with the preliminary short courses, educational sessions and keynote lectures given, will facilitate an exchange of knowledge with regards the latest developments in the field. The Congress will be held at the Convention and Exhibition Centre (Centro de Eventos) in Valencia; a building with an emblematic and unique architectural design. There will also be an attractive social programme and an excellent "accompanying persons" programme organized. Valencia, located on the Mediterranean coast, is Spain's third largest city in population and, due to its historic past, combines traditional architecture with modern design achievements; it is characterized by its intense cultural and artistic activity and a vibrant nightlife. Direct domestic and international flights to the Valencia airport makes the city easily accessible. Its connection with Madrid has been facilitated, in 95 minutes, with the high-speed train (AVE).
