PerCom 2011
Ninth Annual IEEE International Conference on Pervasive Computing and Communications
Seattle, USA
March 21 - 25, 2011
The IEEE Pervasive Computing and Communication (PerCom) conference, entering its ninth year, is the worldwide premier scholarly venue in the areas of pervasive computing and communications. Since 2003, the conference has grown significantly in terms of quality and variety of the technical programs - it is recognized as a top tier conference by most universities and organizations across the world.
PerCom 2011 will provide a high profile, leading edge forum for researchers, engineers, and practitioners to present state-of-the-art research in the respective fields of pervasive computing and communications. The conference will feature a diverse mixture of presentation forums including core technical sessions, keynote talks, panel discussions from worldwide experts, demonstrations, a PhD forum, and work in progress posters. The conference also hosts a number of workshops that have themselves become well recognized in the community as forums for specialized topics within the field.
The conference also provides formats to honor excellence in the field. The Mark Weister Best Paper award, sponsored by Elsevier, will be given to authors of the PerCom's best paper. In addition, the highest quality papers from the conference will be published in a special issue of the Pervasive and Mobile Computing Journal.
The 2011 conference will be held in Seattle, Washington. Seattle, the "Emerald City", is a seaport town bordered by Puget Sound to the west and Lake Washington to the east. The lush evergreen forests and wonderful mountain and water views make the city a popular place to visit. The Seattle area is also home to a number of Fortune 500 companies including Amazon.com, Microsoft, Nintendo, and Starbucks.
PerCom's past sponsors read like a virtual "who's who" in pervasive computing. These sponsors have included IBM Research, Intel Corporation, Nokia Coporation, Sun Microsystem, Google Research, Panasonic Research, NEC, the European Office of Aerospace Research and Development, the National Science Foundation, and Elsevier Publications. If you are interested in joining this exclusive group as a sponsor, please visit the Sponsorship Info page.
