The ICIST 2016 Organizing Committee invites proposals for work-shops to be held on the ICIST conference, which will take place in Druskininkai, Lithuania on October 13?15, 2016. We invite proposals for full-day or half-day workshops in relevant and current topics in Information and Software Technologies and IT applications. The scope of the proposal should be consistent with the conference themes as described in the ICIST 2016 Call for Papers (http://icist.if.ktu.lt) .
Workshops are expected:
? to cover a full day (a program of typically 7 hours including two 15-minute coffee breaks and a 60-minute lunch break) or half day (with a program of typically 3 hours including one 15- minute coffee break) in length.
? to aim for a program that is both varied and interesting,
? includes invited talks, presentations of accepted papers, demo sessions, discussions, and panels.
Workshops will benefit from the ICIST 2016 organizational infrastructure and receive administrative support (registration, badges, refreshments, hotel booking, etc.). Workshop attendees are required to register to the conference event. Attendance at workshops is included in the registration fee.
GUIDELINES FOR PROPOSALS
Workshop proposals should contain the necessary information for the Conference chairs and reviewers to judge the importance, quality and community interest in the proposed topic. Each workshop should have one or more designated organizers and a workshop program.
When proposing a workshop, please provide (at least) the following information:
? Workshop title and acronym
? Workshop chairs, who should be experts in the workshop topics and preferably from multiple institutions, their competence in the proposed topic(s) and previous experience in chairing scientific events, and contact information.
? Abstract (up to 300 words) and specific topics to be addressed
? Motivation and rationale of the workshop (a brief description of the specific issues that the workshop will address, the reasons why the workshop is of interest in these times, the main research areas involved).
? Relevance and significance of the workshop to the main conference
? Workshop format and duration (half day or full day)
? Expected number of submissions and acceptance rate
? Expected number of attendees
? Any special requirements regarding logistics (e.g. poster stands, more than one projector), if applicable.
? A draft of the “Call for Papers”, articulating the scope and topics covered by the workshop and information on expected format of the workshop (e.g., invited talks, presentations, panel discussions, or other ideas for ensuring an interactive atmosphere), the workshop deadlines, the names, affiliations and email addresses of the workshop organizers
