ICAE 2011 - INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON APPLIED ENERGY
PERUGIA CENTRO CONGRESSI, PERUGIA, ITALY
MAY 16, 2011 ? MAY 18, 2011
After the successful conferences in Hong Kong in 2009 and Singapore in 2010, the Third International Conference on Applied Energy will be organized in Europe in 2011.
The location selected for the third conference is greatly different from the Asian cities that hosted the first two editions.
Perugia is a small town located in central Italy, in a region which is called the green heart of Italy and which is full of history and traditions. It is a chance to step back from busy and overpopulated cities and rediscover a more sustainable life with a slower pace.
The past conferences have addressed the issue of sustainable development from different points of view and we can now assess the most suitable ways to move in that direction. It is now agreed by scientists, stakeholders, politicians, and the general public, that sustainable development cannot be reached with a single and unique solution but it can be achieved with a variety of solutions, technologies and choices.
In the field of applied energy, sustainable development means saving energy, using renewable energy sources and mitigating pollution and greenhouse gases emissions. All those goals have to be pursued together with the same force and determination.
This conference wants to assess the above three goals and define future strategies to accomplish them in the best way.
