Organizers: Urbashi Mitra, University of Southern California and Andrew Eckford, York University, Canada
In conjunction with the 2015 launch of the IEEE Transactions on Molecular, Biological, and Multi-Scale Communications (http://www.comsoc.org/tmbmc) and the IEEE Globecom Conference in San Diego (December 6-10, 2015), we are holding a workshop on Communications, Inference, and Computing in Molecular and Biological Systems. The workshop begins at noon with lunch on December 3 and completes at 5:30pm on December 4, 2015. The workshop will be held on the University of Southern California campus in Los Angeles with easy access to Los Angeles International Airport, train and metro service.
Confirmed Speakers:
Behnaam Aazhang Rice University ? signal processing methods for neuroscience
Todd Coleman UCSD ? neural inference/brain-machine interfaces
Elisa Franco UC Riverside ? bio-molecular feedback, biochemical oscillators
Scott Fraser USC ? quantitative biology/compressed sensing for translational imaging
Andrea Goldsmith Stanford ? directed information & neuroscience; DNA microarray analysis
Pablo Iglesias JHU ? cellular signaling and control
Olgica Milenkovic UIUC ? bioinformatics & coding theory
Andrew Mugler Purdue ? biological networks, Quantitative systems biology
Lulu Qian CalTech ? neural network computing
Marc Riedel U of Minnesota ? biological circuits
Robert Schober University of Erlangen-Nurnberg -- molecular communication
Gurol Suel UCSD ? emergent dynamics in microbial systems
David Tse Stanford University ? information theoretic analysis of DNA sequences
Haris Vikalo UT Austin ? DNA sequencing/low-rank methods for bio-informatics
