1st EAI International Conference on Smart Grid Inspired Future Technologies
Highlights
The event is endorsed by the European Alliance for Innovation, a leading community-based organisation devoted to the advancement of innovation in the field of ICT.
All accepted papers will be published by Springer and made available through SpringerLink Digital Library, one of the world's largest scientific libraries.
Proceedings are submitted for inclusion to the leading indexing services: DBLP, Google Scholar, Thomson Scientific ISI Proceedings, EI Elsevier Engineering Index, CrossRef, Scopus, as well as ICST's own EU Digital Library (EUDL).
The authors of the best papers will be invited to submit an extended version of their work through one of the following EAI endorsed publications:
Springer Mobile Networks & Applications (MONET) Journal
EAI Endorsed Transactions on Mobile Communications and Applications
EAI Endorsed Transactions on Industrial Networks and Intelligent Systems
The smart grid is the next generation electric grid that enables efficient, intelligent, and economical power generation, transmission, and distribution using modern information and communications technologies, such as advanced sensing, monitoring, and processing technology, and high-speed bi-directional communications and networking. In recent years, the smart grid has attracted significant attentions and become a global trend due to the immense potential benefits including enhanced reliability and resilience, higher operational efficiency, more efficient energy consumption, and better power quality.
This conference expects to address smart grid issues related to data sensing, data processing and data communications, including high-level ideology/methodology, concrete smart grid inspired data sensing/processing/networking technologies, smart grid system architecture, Quality-of-Service (QoS), energy-efficiency, and fault tolerance in smart grid systems, management of smart grid systems, service engineering and algorithm design, and real-world deployment experiences.
The goal of this conference is to bring together the scientists, engineers, researchers, and students from academy and industry all over the world to highlight and systematically address the challenges arising from smart grid. The conference will create a forum for researches, developers and practitioners from both academia and industry to publish the key results and to disseminate the state-of-the-art concepts and techniques in all aspects of smart grids. This conference will also serve as a stimulus to educate about, promote and accelerate technological evolution toward smart grid. Specifically, the conference is soliciting original research articles that cover the following topics (but are not limited to):
§ Smart grid inspired data sensing technologies, modelling, algorithms and systems including energy-efficient sensors and actuators for smart grids
§ Smart grid inspired data processing technologies, modelling, algorithms and systems
§ Smart grid inspired data communication and networking technologies, modelling, algorithms
§ Hybridization of the above three individual key aspects. e.g., convergence of data sensing with data pre-processing, cross-layer design of data processing together with stream data transmission in smart grid systems, etc
§ Smart metering and advanced measurement infrastructure
§ Demand response management (DRM)
§ Energy-efficient smart grid systems
§ Quality of Service assurance in smart grid systems
§ Cyber security and privacy
§ Reliability, robustness, fault-tolerance, and self-healing
§ Smart grid system management and adaptation
§ Application-layer service engineering for smart grids
§ Testing and evaluation tools
§ Optical communications and networking in smart grids
§ Prototype systems and real-world deployment experiences
