Abstract Format
WACBE World Congress on Bioengineering

Call for Papers
The 4th WACBE World Congress on Bioengineering will be held in Hong Kong, China on July 26-29, 2009.
The meeting provides a forum for bioengineering researchers to communicate with each other. Prospective
participants are invited to submit abstracts in English for oral or poster presentations. Submissions from
students are particularly encouraged.
The abstract should include
1) abstract title
2) author names and their affiliations
3) introduction
4) methods
5) results
6) discussion and conclusion, and
7) references
All contents, including figures, images, tables, and references should fit to one A4 page (8.27¡±/21.0 cm x
11.69¡±/29.7 cm, with margins of 1¡±/2.5 cm on all sides. Font should 12 points Roman typeface (e.g. Times,
Times New Roman) and single line spacing throughout the paper.
The deadline for submission is 31 January 2009. You are required to fill in the abstract submission form after
this page. Please send your abstract and submission form in Word format to Congress Secretariat through the
email: wacbe.2009-AT-polyu.edu.hk. Abstracts will be reviewed by the program committee for scientific merit,
relevance to the programmatic theme, clarity and soundness. Notification letter will be sent via e-mail before
March 31, 2009.
Young Investigator¡¯s Awards
Awards for the best papers for innovation will be set up to young investigators (the first author must be either
research student or young researcher <35 years). The authors should indicate to attend the competition of
Young Investigator Best Paper Award in Abstract submission form. The abstracts will be shortlisted by a
panel under Scientific Program Committee. The shortlisted papers will be arranged for oral presentation and
assessed by the panel.
