Overview. The 12th International Conference on Information Fusion will be held in Seattle, Washington, USA, at the Grand Hyatt Seattle Hotel. Authors are invited to submit papers describing advances and applications in information fusion, with submission of non-traditional topics encouraged.
Conference Site. Pacific Northwest is one of the most scenic parts of United States and Seattle is the home of some of the world¡¯s biggest technology companies such as Boeing and Microsoft. Seattle is easily accessible from other parts of North America, Europe, and the Asia Pacific region.
The Grand Hyatt Seattle has been selected as the site for Fusion 2009. Nestled conveniently in the heart of downtown's thriving retail and theatre district, Grand Hyatt Seattle redefines luxury, design and technology.
Topics of interest include (but not limited to) the following:

Probability theory, Bayesian inference; Fuzzy sets, Fuzzy logic; Dempster-Shafer, evidential reasoning, belief functions; Logic based fusion, preference aggregation, vote; Random sets; Neural networks; Ontology & Category Theory.

Data Registration, sensor registration; Detection, combined detection and tracking; Classification, Automatic Target Recognition; Nonlinear Filtering and Smoothing; Particle filters, Markov chain Monte Carlo; Target Tracking and Localization; Feature Aided Tracking; Data association; Video tracking, radar tracking; Situation assessment; Pattern analysis; Behavior modeling; Predictive and Impact assessment; Process management; Sensor Resource Management; Active and Passive Data Fusion; High level fusion; Image Fusion; Hard soft data fusion; Database Fusion; Distributed Fusion; Data Mining; Machine learning.

Paper Submissions. Prospective authors are invited to submit papers electronically via the system PaperPlaza found at https://controls.papercept.net/conferences/scripts.... Paper templates and submission instructions will be available both at this site and at the conference website. Paper submissions are due by 2 March 2009 and should be no more than 8 pages in length. Each additional page beyond 8 pages will be charged $35 per extra page.
Special Session Proposals. Proposers are invited to submit via PaperPlaza (https://controls.papercept.net/conferences/scripts...) the theme of the special session as well as a list of committed papers. Proposals for special sessions are due by 2 February 2009. Papers for special sessions must also be submitted for review on 2 March 2009.
Tutorial Proposals. The first day of the conference will be devoted to tutorials on information fusion. Proposals for tutorials are invited. A title and description of the tutorial and biographical sketch of the instructor are due via PaperPlaza (https://controls.papercept.net/conferences/scripts...) by 2 February 2009.
Student Paper Program. Fusion 2009 is featuring a student paper program to encourage the involvement of young engineers and scientists in information fusion. Conference fees will be discounted for all student attendees. Further details will be available at the conference website.
