ICOSST 2011 - Fifth International Conference on Open-Source Systems and Technologies(ICOSST)
Topics/Call fo Papers
Fifth International Conference on Open-Source Systems and Technologies 22, 23, 24 December 2011, Lahore, Pakistan.
Open-Source Software has now established as a cross-disciplinary paradigm for distributed enterprise computing and e-Government. It is helping organizations both Governmental and non-Governmental to keep a control on the cost of development and deployment. OSSs have not only changed the way software applications are architected, deployed, and consumed but also they are engineered to provide large distributed cross-platforms and frameworks. Al-Khawarizmi Institute of Computer Science (KICS) in collaboration with Deptt. of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, is organizing a three-day conference to invite researchers and practitioners from across the world to share their ideas and experiences related to the state-of-the-art and the future of open-source software like virtualization, knowledge-bases, surveillance, automation, etc. ICOSST-2011 will create a scientific venue where participants can share ideas, strategies, and policies for tackling the development, research and adaptation challenges related to open-source tools and open-source development environments for the customized and enterprise grade applications. ICOSST-2011 will address:
Development of open-source stand-alone software tools, toolsets, and IDEs for open, complex, and robust enterprise and e-Government information systems.
Development of tools like modeling editors, build automation, continuous integration , logging, debugging, tracing, performance, code generators, document generators, installers, search & rule engines, databases, and information management.
KICS is organizing 5TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON OPEN SOURCE SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGIES (ICOSST-2011), to be held on 22-24 DECEMBER, 2011. The conference and workshop are 5th in a series which tends to attract research papers addressing the cutting edge open-source research and development.
Background
KICS initiated work on OSSs five years ago, triggered by a customer push for zero deployment cost. Since then KICS focused on customizing and developing OSSs and achieved several important milestones in this domain, such as:
1st International Conference on Open Source Technologies (ICOST-2006)
2nd International Conference on Open Source System and Technologies (ICOSST-2007)
3rd International Conference on Open Source System and Technologies (ICOSST-2009)
4th International Conference on Open Source System and Technologies (ICOSST-2010)
Workshops associated with both Conferences
Open Source Series Workshops ? 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010
In collaboration with leading software industry experts
In sponsorship from HEC and ICT R&D Fund
