ICONS 2016 - 4th IFAC International Conference on Intelligent Control and Automation Sciences
Topics/Call fo Papers
The aim of ICONS is to serve as a platform for scientists, researchers, and practitioners to discuss their forefront research results and findings, to shape their future directions and development, and to exchange their knowledge and perspectives in the field of intelligent control, automation science, engineering, and integration into the industry and society. It constitutes the primary forum for cross-industry, multidisciplinary research, and provides an opportunity to have a unique and rich cultural experience with excellent technical and social programs.
ICONS 2016 welcomes contributions related to Intelligent Control and Automation Sciences, covering all aspects from theory to applications. Contributors are invited to submit papers that, if accepted, will be scheduled for oral or poster presentation. All accepted papers will appear in the proceedings of the meeting, will be hosted on-line on the IFACPapersOnLine.net website and will be indexed in SCOPUS.
Topics of ICONS 2016:
Since decades now, a part of “Automatic Control” areas has been put under the general appellation of “Intelligent Control”, which is distinguished from conventional approaches since it is historically based on methodologies borrowed from Artificial Intelligence.
Intelligent Control includes (but not limited to) the following major sub-domains:
Neural network control (both artificial and biologically plausible),
Bayesian control,
Fuzzy logic control,
Neuro-fuzzy control,
Evolutionary/genetic algorithms for control,
Expert systems,
Reinforcement learning,
Intelligent agents (Cognitive/conscious control),
Hybrid techniques…
One of the goals of Intelligent Control is to cope with problems ? especially industrial ones ? where conventional methods were reputed unsuccessful. In this context, it may be useful to deal with many aspects of Control Engineering and Automation Sciences such as:
Modeling and identification,
Forecasting,
Stability / stabilization analysis,
Diagnosis, fault detection and fault tolerant control,
Controllers and observers design,
Learning, adaptation and evaluation,
Performance specifications and operation constraints,
Robustness issues,
Robotics,
Awareness for computational issues,
Brain-computer interfacing,
Biomimetics, Bioinformatics,
Computer-aided design tools,
Emerging areas…
Applications of Intelligent Control may include without restrictions: transportation systems, medical, biomedical and biological systems, aerospace, automation, biotechnology, mechatronics, manufacturing, process control, power systems, energy and smart grid, agriculture, environmental systems, robotics and autonomous systems, economics and business systems
