The George Washington University is delighted to be hosting the 2011 International Conference on Information Warfare. Located in the heart of Washington, D.C., between the White House and the State Department, GWU is privileged to quite literally observe the course of history. Proximity to US leadership, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and an enormous number of embassies provides a richness to life at GWU that is unsurpassed. The School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) currently counts students from 72 countries in our student body.
Washington, DC is itself a rich cosmopolitan city. With world famous attractions such as the Smithsonian Institution's 19 museums, the monuments on the National Mall, and the Cherry Blossoms which bloom in the early spring, Washington provides a visiting experience of a lifetime. The Washington DC metro area is also a hub on high technology innovation. From the information technology and defense contracting companies along the Dulles corridor to the biosciences firms along the 270 corridor, the DC area has an enormous wealth of intellectual talent. It is also home to many universities, think tanks, and research institutes, including the U.S. National Defense University (NDU).
ICIW 2011 promises to be an exciting event. The ICIW has always brought together a variety of people from different countries, backgrounds, and experiences. ICIW 2011 promises to continue that legacy in one of the most international cities on earth. We look forward to seeing you here!
