With technological advancements, there have been major changes in how people carry out their activities and how they interact with each other. These changes in turn have led to significant changes in the economic, social, cultural and environmental systems in today’s world. The study of human dynamics has been a major focus in geographic research for ages. With the astonishing technological transformations taking place now, it is an imperative to improve our understanding of human dynamics in order to help tackle the multiple challenges ranging from climate change, public health, traffic congestion, to economic issues, social movements, and cultural conflicts, etc.
Following five well-attended “Human Dynamics in the Mobile Age” paper sessions at 2015 AAG annual meeting in Chicago, we would like to broaden the scope and organize a “Symposium on Human Dynamics Research” at 2016 AAG annual meeting in San Francisco to engage researchers with interests in different aspects of human dynamics research. We welcome people to propose and organize specific paper and/or panel sessions on various topics related to human dynamics to be part of this “Symposium on Human Dynamics Research” at 2016 AAG annual meeting. Below are some example topics for paper sessions of this symposium.
