Over the past few years, India has seen a rapid boost to the startup ecosystem driven by factors such as massive funding opportunities, evolving technology, enterpreunureal mindset and a burgeoning domestic market.
It is projected that in the year 2020, India will have over 10,000 Start up companies from the present scenario of about 3500 startups in 2015. This much-needed change will drive the startup ecosystem in India to revolutionize the future of innovations in our country. This will eventually benefit the healthcare ecosystem in India by increasing the opportunity for affordable and accessible innovations in healthcare.
Keeping this growth in mind, the NetHealth Workshop 2016 focuses to bring together leading clinicians, MedTech stalwarts, mobile health pioneers, engineers, designers and entrepreneurs to a common platform to network and build a strong healthcare innovation platform. The aim is to build synergies among the multidisciplinary participants to help in the development of healthcare technologies for India.
The event will include paper presentations on recent healthcare innovations ranging from mobile health, medical devices, healthcare IT solutions. It will also include key-note speeches from eminent leaders within the healthcare community along with an array of talks and panel discussions on challenges, opportunities and future of healthcare innovations in India. A showcase of new technologies will be the highlight of the event.
We invite research papers, research demos, product presentations and position papers that present novel ideas for networked computing technology in support of healthcare, and which are likely to invoke thoughtful discussion at the workshop. Both academia and corporate contributions are highly welcome and encouraged. Of interest, though not exclusively, are the following topics:
Mobile and wearable medical sensing applications
Emerging low-cost medical devices
Remote diagnosis and remote consultation
Assistive medical technology
Clinical applications of mobile or networked healthcare
Design of wearable and home-care health devices
Sensor networks for public health monitoring and surveillance
Security and privacy in networked healthcare
Experience from technology deployments
Usability of mobile health applications and devices
Cost-efficient and energy-efficient networking for remote healthcare
Remote access to electronic health records
Assistive robotics and prosthetics
Rehabilitation engineering and assistive rehabilitative technology
