Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 20th IEEE International Symposium on Power Line Communications and its Applications (ISPLC 2016) to be held at the University of Applied Sciences Ruhrwest in Bottrop, Germany from March 29 to April 1, 2016.
IEEE ISPLC 2016 will bring together experts and users of power line technologies, who will present and discuss state-of-the-art solutions, applications, deployment experiences and latest research results for power line communication systems.
The conference will focus on key aspects of communications theory, signal processing and networking algorithms, standards, measurements, implementations, evaluation of field trials and network operation pertaining to communication over power lines.
Submissions are invited in, but not limited to, the following areas:
? PLC for smart grids
? Access, in-home and in-vehicle power line networks
? Field trial evaluations, identified problems, required improvements
? Performance measurements and comparability of field trials
? Channel characterization, modeling, emulation, and experimental systems
? Cognitive, cooperative, and autonomous approaches
? Modulation, coding and signal processing for PLC
? MIMO and multi-user PLC
? Electromagnetic compatibility, interference and coupling issues
? Green communications and energy saving concepts for narrow- and broadband PLC modems
? Multiple access techniques and protocols for PLC networks
? Multi hop routing in PLC and combined PLC / wireless networks
? Cross-layer optimization and service integration
? System architectures and security issues
? Management tools and documentation for large PLC networks
? Measurement concepts, protocols and tools for PLC modems roll-out
? Quality and interoperability /-changeability tests of chip-sets and modems
? PLC standardization and regulation
? Emerging PLC-related technologies
Acceptance of submissions will be based on quality, relevance and originality of the work, and the best regular and student submissions will be recognized with best paper awards. The conference will include a series of keynote and plenary talks as well as an industry forum and special sessions on the hot topics for utilities, system integrators and chip manufacturers.
