Overview:
The interview is the most common “tool” that is used in the hiring situation. Anyone who has a job has likely been in an interview. The problem is that few managers or supervisors who hire have been trained on how to use the tool effectively. Most also do not understand the legal “do’s and don’ts” of the interview process thus opening their companies to claims of discrimination.
Why Should You Attend:
The goal of most companies is to hire the best and most effective employee they can. The success of the company is based on hiring the right employees in the right jobs doing the right things. Unfortunately most companies do not train their interviewers on how to properly prepare for an interview. They don’t train them on how to properly ask questions. They do not train them on how to make a determination if the candidates can actually do the job. As a result people are hired that are a poor fit for the job, or don’t have the qualifications for the job or just don’t fit with the organization. The resulting loss of time, productivity and money can be harmful to the organization. Additionally the potential for lawsuits based upon discriminatory unfair hiring practices looms large. With lawsuits running into the tens of thousands of dollars it is critical to improve your hiring practices.
