WCRR 2016 - 11TH WORLD CONGRESS ON RAILWAY RESEARCH

Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane and Trenitalia are proud to announce that they will be hosting the eleventh edition of the World Congress on Railway Research in Milan.
We are sure that this extremely important event will fulfill its promise and both ambitious and farsighted objectives, which the name of this edition sums up perfectly: Research and Innovation from today towards 2050.
This meeting will be attended by over 200 speakers and 1000 representatives from over 30 nations and provide the chance to share and implement the best currently offered by scientific and technological research and relative industrial and financial processes in the field of rail services.
We are looking towards the future, symbolised by the turning point for this century in 2050.
The objective is to make railway transport safer, more effective, more efficient and more sustainable and ensure it can fulfill changing demand, is synchronized with other transport systems and interoperable in other countries.
Numerous countries are paying close attention to the railway industry and therefore building, planning or researching new rail systems, especially High Speed Rail.
Because an efficient and modern railway system can improve quality of life and competitiveness in manufacturing industries, as well as help safeguard ecological balance on our planet.
I would like to thank the Scientific Committees and Organisers and founding members of the WCRR and wish them good luck in their work.
