Brain tumor, multiple sclerosis and stroke are different diseases affecting in different ways the brain. However, they share similarities in the way they appear in medical imaging, for instance how they appear on T1 and T2 images, or the use of similar contrast agents. Their unpredictable appearance and shape make them challenging to be segmented in multi-modal brain imaging.
Glioma is the most common type of brain tumor, MS is an inflammatory and demyelinating disease. Stroke is the sudden loss of neurologic function caused by an interruption of the blood supply to the brain. For these diseases, even in normal appearing brain tissues there are alterations often not visible on conventional MRI sequences or they can be confused each other.
Topics:
We solicit manuscript that use methods of medical image analysis in at least one of the four diseases focusing on the following aspects:
Lesion segmentation (glioma, MS, stroke, traumatic brain injuries).
Longitudinal data analysis.
Novel MRI sequences and contrast agents.
Diffusion imaging.
Clinical related aspects.
Neurosonography.
Connectomics.
