ICTTP 2016 - Sixth International Conference on Traffic and Transport Psychology (ICTTP2016)

On behalf of QUT’s Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety ? Queensland (CARRS-Q) and Griffith University’s School of Applied Psychology, we would like to welcome you to the Sixth International Conference on Traffic and Transport Psychology (ICTTP2016) which will be held in Brisbane, Australia, 2-5 August 2016.
With a theme of “UN Decade of Action For Road Safety: The Half-way Point”, the conference will feature a strong program of keynote speakers, oral and poster presentations, workshops and symposia.
The Conference will be a global forum at which all those involved in traffic and transport psychology, human factors, cognition and behaviours, road safety research, policy, education, enforcement and injury prevention, can meet with researchers, academics, and professionals to discuss and present on the latest work being undertaken in these areas.
2011 saw the commencement of the UN Decade of Action, a worldwide initiative bringing together over 70 countries in a united effort to reduce traffic crashes and the global road toll. By 2016, the Decade will have reached its half-way point and it will be important to not only reflect on the global achievements already made, but to re-focus our energies on ensuring that it truly is a Decade of Action and not just a decade of the same. ICTTP2016 will bring the Decade of Action to Brisbane in a very dynamic way, with over 300 traffic psychologists, researchers, and safety experts meeting to discuss and showcase the latest findings in international programs, policy, and development.
An update on world-wide developments, key geographic regions of emerging issues and at risk populations will be provided by international and national speakers.
The objective of this conference is to facilitate interaction between all people working in the field of traffic and transport psychology, with a special emphasis on building collaborative links between early and more experienced researchers. The format therefore is that of a research and practice oriented conference, with plenty of opportunity for engagement, networking, communication and learning. We look forward to welcoming you to Brisbane in August 2016 for what will be a stimulating scientific program.
