2015 IEEE Globecom Workshop on Enabling Technologies in Future Wireless Local Area Network (ETFWLAN)
6-10, December 2015/San Dieogo, CA USA
Call for Papers
The purpose of the workshop is to gather academic and industrial researchers/engineers to share their views on requirements, and to discuss enabling technologies for the coming wireless local area networks (WLAN).
Wireless LANs based upon IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ad standards are gaining wider acceptance in the market for their simplicity, cost effectiveness, and the ever increasing demands for economical high speed connectivity in enterprises, hotels, hospitals, airports, shopping complexes and almost every places of business or leisure. More recently, IEEE802.11ax task group (TG) is launched to address the high data rate, high efficiency requirements in dense user environments. At another extreme, next generation 60GHz (NG60) study group (SG) was created to support wireless data/video transmissions at a few tens of Gbps data rate, using the 60 GHz millimeter wave (mmwave) frequency band.
To address the ever increasing demands for high data rate and high efficiency in WLAN, new enabling technologies fitted to WLAN environments are needed. Some advanced technologies already adopted in the cellular networks, such as OFDMA, multi-user MIMO, are not directly applicable to WLAN due to the unlicensed nature of the spectrum, and appropriate modifications may be needed. This workshop will bring together academic researchers and industrial professionals to identify technical challenges, discuss potential enabling technologies, and finally establish a practical guideline for next generation WLAN development.
Topics of interest include but are not limited to the following:
? Cooperative AP networks
? LTE/WiFi Offloading
? LTE/WiFi integration
? Energy efficient WLANs
? Power consumption model
? APs with large antenna array
? Uplink multi-user MIMO in WLAN
? Downlink multi-user MIMO in WLAN
? Channel model for 5/60GHz WLAN
? Synchronization and channel estimation
? Clear channel assessment and power control
? Uplink OFDMA in WLAN
? Downlink OFDMA in WLAN
? Full duplex communications in WLAN
? Radio resource management in WLAN
? MIMO in mmwave WLAN
? Multiuser MIMO in mmwave WLAN
? Directional MAC in mmwave WLAN
? QoS provisioning in MAC
? SDN and NFV in WLAN
? Multicast and Broadcast in WLAN
? WiFi for IoT, WiFi Security
Important dates:
Submission deadline: July 1, 2015
Acceptance/rejection announcement: September 1, 2015 Final workshop papers due: October 1, 2015
Website: https://sites.google.com/a/webmail.korea.ac.kr/201...
Paper submission guidelines:
All final submissions should be written in English with a maximum paper length of six (6) printed pages (10-point font) including figures without incurring additional page charges (maximum 1 additional page with over length page charge of USD100 if accepted). Papers exceeding 7 pages will not be accepted at EDAS.
Standard IEEE conference templates for LaTeX formats are found at here: http://www.ieee.org/ conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html
You may also use one of the following templates for Microsoft Word: A4, US letter. Only PDF files will be accepted for the review process, and all submissions must be done through EDAS.
If you have any questions regarding the submission of manuscripts, please contact the Technical Program Chairs of the Symposia or the Workshop Program Chairs.
PLEASE NOTE: To be published in the IEEE GLOBECOM 2015 Conference Proceedings and to be eligible for publication in IEEE Xplore, an author of an accepted paper is required to register for the workshop at the FULL (member or non-member) rate and the paper must be presented by an author of that paper at the workshop unless the TPC Chair grants permission for a substitute presenter in advance of the event and who is qualified both to present and answer questions. Non- refundable registration fees must be paid prior to uploading the final IEEE formatted, publication- ready version of the paper. For authors with multiple accepted papers, one FULL or LIMITED registration is valid for up to 3 papers. Accepted and presented papers will be published in the IEEE GLOBECOM 2015 Conference Proceedings and submitted to IEEE Xplore®.
