Topics/Call fo Papers

Ambient Intelligence (AmI) is a paradigm emerging from Artificial Intelligence (AI), where computers are used as proactive tools assisting people with their day-to-day activities, making everyone’s life more comfortable.
AmI environments may be highly diverse, such as homes, offices, meeting rooms, schools, hospitals, control centers, transport facilities, tourist attractions, stores, sport installations, music devices, etc. Equipping these environments with sensors has been an hot topic in recent years, leading to monitoring systems that process and fuse great amounts of data. As monitoring systems are easily integrated into both Ambient Intelligence and Energetic Sustainability approaches, the natural step is to join efforts from these different areas to share components and outcomes.
More specifically, energetic sustainability is related not only to tangible benefits such as energy and operational savings, but also to intangible ones such as occupant comfort and emotional satisfaction. These domains operate in uncertain and dynamic environments with limited resources that need to be taken into account and considered as a true multi-disciplinary area.
In the Special Session on ESAmI we will create a multi-disciplinary discussion forum that will bring together researchers from the different fields addressed discussing issues in Artificial Intelligence topics included in the Ambient Intelligence and Energetic Sustainability. Researchers are welcome to present both theoretical and practical works as well as the lessons learned with their application in the varied range of domains. Emphasis will be placed on the presentation of concrete systems, discussion of implementation and development challenges and sharing of conclusions achieved and relevant results.
LIST OF TOPICS OF INTEREST
In order to fulfill these objectives, submissions of substantial, original and previously unpublished work are invited in all areas of Ambient Intelligence and Affective environments.
The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Affect and Emotion Recognition
Agent & Multiagent Systems for AmI and for Control and Management of Energy in Efficient Environments
Ambient Assisted Living
Cogntive Assistants
Ubiquitous Computing
Multisensory Monitoring
Applications for Energetic Sustainability
