Singapore is a major commercial hub, ranked in the top 10 per capita GDP countries in the world. Our government has strategically invested in research and innovation due to fierce regional competition in both the manufacturing and service sectors. This commitment is evidenced by its investment of S$16.1 billion for 2011-15 under the Research, Innovation and Enterprise (RIE) 2015 plan.
The research funding landscape in Singapore is diverse. The Ministry of Education (MOE) is the major provider of research funding. There are a wide selection of competitive research funding sources from public agencies that actively support R&D across a number of disciplines. Our vibrant research and innovation environment comprises a number of highly performing universities, polytechnics, public sector research institutions, hospitals and corporate R&D laboratories who are large players in the global research market.
Research management and administration is viewed as a serious global profession and therefore ARMS 2015 aims to highlight the importance of our profession by presenting best international practice as part of our conference program.
The conference will offer you a unique opportunity for extensive networking with delegates from the SE Asia region and will foster new professional opportunities and friendships. Singapore boasts a multicultural population comprising of Chinese, Malays, Indians and Eurasians and ARMS 2015 will immerse you in a uniquely Singaporean cultural experience.
