WiCV 2015 - 2015 Women in Computer Vision Workshop
Topics/Call fo Papers
Computer vision has made tremendous progress in recent years over a wide range of areas, and has also become one of the largest computer science research community. However, despite the expansion of our field, the percentage of female faculty members and researchers both in academia and in industry is still relatively low. As a result, most female researchers working in computer vision feel isolated and do not have a lot of opportunities to meet with other women. The half-day workshop on Women in Computer Vision is a gathering for both women and men working in computer vision.
The goals of this workshop are to:
-- Raise visibility of women in computer vision by presenting invited research talks by women who are role models in this field.
-- Give opportunities to junior female students or researchers to present their work via a poster session and travel awards.
-- Share experience and career advice for female students and professionals.
ELIGIBILITY
All undergraduate and graduate students, researchers and faculty who are interested in or working in any area of computer vision are encouraged to attend. *** Travel grants are available for female presenters who are students (undergraduate or graduate), post-docs, and junior industry researchers. ***
SUBMISSION
We encourage female students, post-docs, and junior researchers to submit an application through the WiCV CMT site: https://cmt.research.microsoft.com/WICV2015/
The application should include:
-- An abstract of 2 pages or less, using the CVPR template. This abstract should describe either new or previously published research, including research presented at CVPR 2015.
-- The applicant's CV.
