GINSENG 2015 - Green in Software Engineering (GINSENG) workshop
Topics/Call fo Papers
Nowadays, the environmental aspects are becoming more and more important and are being introduced into the industry as part of its business processes. Moreover, the presence of software systems into industry is also of prime importance, and it is unusual to find enterprises that do not use software systems for their business development. The usage of software systems, web applications, data centers, etc. need a great amount of energy to work. In the area of Information Technology (IT), for quite some time, there have been efforts related to the so-called Green IT. However, from the software point of view, the research is just starting, and there are no too much work available although it is becoming a strong line of research.
In this workshop we try to pay attention to the importance of incorporating green aspects as part of the software engineering practices. The main goal of Green in Software Engineering is to include green practices as part of the software development, as well as the rest of activities that are part of the Software Engineering. by taking into consideration environmental aspects.
With the first edition of this workshop we want to promote all the aspects related to green software engineering by giving to the researchers of the area the opportunity of sharing the works and a place for discussing. Moreover, we plan to identify, during the workshop, possible future lines related to the topic of the workshop. Topics include, but are not limited to, the topics of interest below. We explicitly solicit position papers, short papers or posters related to highlighted topics.
