PGSC 2010 - The 4th International Workshop on Personalization in Grid, Service and Cloud Computing (PGSC 2010)
Topics/Call fo Papers
The 4th International Workshop on Personalization in Grid, Service and Cloud Computing (PGSC 2010)
Personalization and context-awareness researches in the area of service, grid and cloud computing are emerging as an important topic with the transformation of Internet and Web from traditional linking and sharing of computers and documents (i.e., “Web of Data”) to current connecting of people (i.e., “Web of People”). Adopting Service-Oriented Computing as a basic paradigm, the Grid and Cloud Computing approach focuses on the virtualization and transparent provisioning of resources and software. Under such paradigm, information and service supply faces a number of new challenges. For example, how to smartly deal with large amounts of services based on users’ personalized needs, how to handle personalized service composition in a dynamic environment, and how to customize business processes according to users’ preferences. Personalization for processes and services in such a dynamic environment is one of the most exciting trends in Grid/Cloud Computing today that holds the potential to enrich user experiences and make our daily life more productive, convenient, and enjoyable.
The topics of this workshop focus on all the aspects around personalized processes and services in the Service/Grid/Cloud Computing field, ranging from its theoretical foundations, supporting infrastructures, engineering approaches, to its applications and case studies.
Following the success of PGSC 2007, PGSC 2008, and PGSC 2009, PGSC 2010 will continue to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners to exchange new ideas, developments, and experiences on the key technical challenges for deployment of personalized Web/Grid services and integrated applications. Discussions will focus on where the state of the art is and where the challenges lie, and what practices are needed to enable and sustain a bright future. The anticipated outcome of the workshop is to assess the state of the art in the area, as well as to discuss the approach and evaluate critically the next steps in pursuing the topics in this area. There is a great opportunity of creating the core of a consortium for future R&D projects that academia and industry bodies could initiate. Another anticipated outcome would be the interdisciplinary interaction between AI, Databases, Information Retrieval, Data Mining, and the Grid/Service Computing communities.
Workshop Main Topic (but not limited to)
PGSC 2010 welcomes papers that focus on novel solutions on the recent developments in the general areas of Web services/Service-Oriented Computing, Grid/Cloud Computing, Semantic Web, and Pervasive Computing. Topics of interests include, but are not limited to:
?Models and languages for formal specification of personalization
?Personalization in Grid/Cloud Computing and Pervasive Computing
?Service Personalization, Resource & Service Modeling, Service Matching
?Context & Situation-Aware Processes and Service Adaptation
?Personalization and Web services standards
?Personalization Using Semantic Technologies
?Semantic Platforms/Infrastructures for Grid/Cloud & SOA Applications
?Requirement Engineering for Personalized and Evolvable Applications
?User Modeling
?Personalized User Interfaces and Interaction Patterns
?Case Studies from Different Application Domains
Paper Submission
Unpublished papers reporting original research results and experience are solicited. Each paper, written in English, should be no more than 6 pages (GCC2010 paper format), including references and Illustrations. Electronic submissions in PDF format are strongly recommended. Submission of a paper should be regarded as an undertaking that, should the paper be accepted, at least one of the authors will attend the workshop to present the paper.
