The workshop of Mobidata aims to foster the exchange of new ideas in the synergy of mobile computing and big data research. Mobile big data is generally concerned with the big data generated from mobile computing devices, and using the mobile computing platforms for big data processing. The data generated by over billions of mobile devices with respect to social media data, physical analytics, user behaviors, are in large volume, velocity, variety, value, and veracity. In addition, mobile devices provide a convenient tool to store, access, process, manage, and present the data. The mobile devices leveraging the power of the cloud and other more powerful computing platforms will make the big data applications more pertinent to our daily life and more convenient to use.
We are interested in work-in-progress, visionary papers, foundational papers, experimental and system-related papers. We are particularly looking for papers that introduce new directions of research, non-traditional approaches to existing systems and problems, and controversial ideas. Papers should describe original, previously unpublished, and not currently under review by another conference, workshop, or journal. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
-- Novel application, environments, and architectures supporting mobile big data
-- Operating system and distributed system support for mobile big data computing
-- Foundational and fundamental problems in mobile big data
-- Theoretical foundations for mobile big data analysis
-- Big data analysis for mobile physical analytics in wearable computing
-- Big data for internet of things (sensors, controllers, and RFID)
-- HCI issues related to mobile big data
-- Social science perspective of mobile big data
-- Security and privacy for mobile big data computing
-- Management, configuration, and deployment of systems supporting mobile big data
-- Mobile social networks
-- Mobile cloud computing
-- Large scale mobile crowdsourcing, participatory sensing
Please consult the program chairs if you are uncertain whether your paper falls within the theme of this workshop.
