AERFAI SUMMER SCHOOL ON PATTERN RECOGNITION IN MULTIMODAL HUMAN INTERACTION

It is a pleasure to announce the Call for Participation for the AERFAI
Summer School 2012 (AERFAISS'2012) organized by the Spanish
Association for Pattern Recognition (AERFAI) in collaboration with the
Group of Multimedia Technologies of the University of Vigo and the
Multimodal Task Force of the Galician R&D Center in Advanced
Telecommunications (GRADIANT).
This is the sixth edition in a series of AERFAI Summer Schools devoted
to a wide range of topics in the fields of Pattern Recognition and
Machine Learning. The focus of this year's Summer School is to provide
the students the most relevant techniques to analyze and understand
the information conveyed in human's audiovisual communication.
This event is open to any researcher or PhD-student who is interested
in learning or refreshing their knowledge about the most successful
approaches in the fields of human action recognition, affective
computing, human-machine interfaces, human identification, behavior
analysis, social signal processing, ..
The Summer School 2012 is organized as a five-day intensive course to
be held June 4-8 in Vigo (Spain). Leading experts in the field shall
present each tutorial, followed by a practice session with specific
software and/or demos in order for participants to gain a better
understanding of the theory. Non-formal poster presentations will also
be organized for the participants to present their current research
and interact with their scientific peers.

People interested in this Summer School should fill an application
form that will be soon available at the webpage and send it before
March 15th 2012. Confirmation of acceptance will be announced by April
1st, 2012. The early-bird registration fee for this event is available
till May 1st, 2012. Please note that AERFAI's members have an
important cut-off price, so this is an excellent opportunity for
participants to join the AERFAI association and register at an
affordable cost. The fee includes access to all lectures, handling
material, coffee breaks and lunches at the event. Half School
attendance and per-lecture attendance is also possible. Please note
that the number of participants registering at the AERFAI's summer
schools is high with a limited number of seats available, and
therefore early registration is highly recommended.
