Robocup 2015 China.The City of Hefei has been choosen to organize this great event. This event will be held in July of 2015.
Effort of universities
Universities from all over the world will join this event trying to make the best robot soccer team. The games are played in different leaguas such as The NAO league, The humanoid league and the Midsized robots. These robots play soccer in teams of up to 6 robots with a regular size FIFA soccer ball on a field similar to a scaled human soccer field. All sensors are on-board. Robots can use wireless networking to communicate.
Goal Robocup
The humanoid league especially gives a view on the future because these events have a goal; in 2045 they want to beat a soccer team of human.
Insights and programming
As we joined the WK robot soccer 2013 in Eindhoven we saw bunches of students programming. Software interprets the data and is sent out with the right instructions. Insights of these developments are not only used to perform better next year but are also used for other applications like care robots. Moving is a major issue for robots. As simple als it looks for human. To program robots on this part takes a lot of effort. Next steps of this evolution will surely be made in Huefei, China.
