WGICT 2015 - 1st Workshop on Gerontechnology: ICT in the improvement of the quality of life of the elderly (WGICT 2015)

We are pleased to invite the academic and business communities to submit their papers to CISTI'2015 (10th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies) Workshop on Gerontechnology: Information and Communication Technologies for the Improvement of the Quality of Life of the Elderly, to be held in Águeda, Aveiro, Portugal, between the 17th and the 20th of June 2015.
Gerontechnology combines gerontology and technology in order to promote a sustained ageing society. This multidisciplinary workshop intends to explore the ways in which information and communication technologies can promote the well-being of the elderly population, through the customization and dematerialization of the medical and health processes.
We aim to publish the most recent developments on Information Systems that support gerontechnology, by focusing not only in the technological aspects, but also on psychosocial issues, health and safety, design for inclusion and social presence.
Authors are encouraged to submit original scientific contributions, such as state-of-art reviews and new research perspectives, groundbreaking ideas and/or architectures, solutions and/or applications for real problems, empirical and/or evaluation works, case studies, etc., in conformity with the workshop’s theme.
