Workshop on Mobile Computing and Emerging Communication Networks 2010 (MCECN’10)
http://mcecn.ntua.gr
Scope
The International Workshop on Mobile Computing and Emerging Communication Networks 2010 (MCECN’10) will take place in conjunction with the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM 2010) in Miami Florida, U.S.A. on December 10, 2010. This is an excellent opportunity to participate in two events that cover a wide range of research in mobile computing and next generation wireless communications.
Overview
Emerging communication networks have given rise to a new era in social environment and economic development. The increasing demand for new broadband wireless services combined with mobility requirements and demanding network restrictions constitute a challenging research environment. The demand for ubiquitous computing at transmission rates of the order of several megabits per second, for enhanced QoS guarantees supporting mobility and new multimedia services, necessitate innovative mobile computing architectures, efficient resource allocation protocols and accurate propagation models.
In future mobile wireless networks supporting multiple multimedia services with discrete QoS characteristics and various access technologies the convergence of communications with mobile computing designates the new research aspects. Hence, research areas such as channel estimation and propagation models, resource management and QoS provision, network design and systems interoperability, should be further investigated. Moreover, MCECN’10 will focus on technical issues related to heterogeneous networking, models, protocol and algorithms analysis, design and implementation, measurements and performance evaluation for mobile wireless communication systems and applications.
MCECN’10 serves as an open forum for researchers, developers and engineers in both academia and industry aiming at providing significant contribution in mobile computing and related topics. Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished works of high quality covering all aspects of Mobile Computing and Emerging Communication Networks. Areas of interest include but are not limited to the topics listed below.

Submission Guidelines - Proceedings
Submitted papers must represent original material which is not currently under review in any other conference or journal and has not been previously published. Paper length should not exceed five-pages standard IEEE conference two-column format (including all text, figures, and references). One paper can have one additional page but at an additional page fee. Please see the Author Information page for submission guidelines in the IEEE GLOBECOM 2010 website http://mcecn.ntua.gr/index.php/authors-area/author.... The paper should be used as the basis for a 20-30 minute workshop presentation. Papers should be submitted in a .pdf format by selecting Globecom 2010 at the EDAS paper submission website http://edas.info/ and then selecting the workshop submission link (MCECN’10).
All submitted papers will go through professional peer reviews. An accepted paper must be registered before the registration deadline. An accepted paper must be presented at the workshop. Failure to register before the deadline will result in automatic withdrawal of the paper from the workshop proceedings and the program. All accepted and presented papers will be included in the IEEE GLOBECOM proceedings and IEEE digital library. GLOBECOM has the right to remove an accepted and registered but not presented paper from the IEEE digital library.
