First International Workshop on Wireless Sensor Networks, Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks & RFID (WSNR-2010)

to be held in conjunction with
5th International Conference on Broadband and Wireless Computing, Communication and Applications
November 4-6, 2010, Fukuoka Institute of Technology, Fukuoka, Japan
INTRODUCTION
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) and Wireless Multimedia Sensor Network (WSN) are considered to be the three main elements of pervasive computing and are persistent in gathering the interest of research community since from past few years as it has opened new challenges with the development of interesting application like surveillance, environment monitoring, supply chain management, real time asset tracking, logistics, vehicular traffic congestion management etc.

RFID has limited sense range and can be enhanced by the merger of the two above said technologies. RFID in conjunction with WSN & WSMN can possibly be ideal for Automated Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) which has revolutionized the overall supply chain management process and other useful industrial applications like traffic congestion management, distributed surveillance, healthcare, petroleum etc.

The development of efficient protocols for WSN & WMSN communication as well as development of RFID based WSN motes itself poses numerous challenges for the research community. And for achieving the longevity of the network energy efficient design is of paramount importance for such networks.

The workshop aims to bring together the research community working in these areas. It will be held in conjunction with BWCCA 2010, thus providing an ideal opportunity for researchers and especially high degree PhD research students to present their latest work and have a valuable feedback from experts.

Authors are invited to submit original, previously unpublished work that clearly demonstrate their research related to energy efficient WSN/WMSN, RFID based systems.
