Topics/Call fo Papers
Special Issue on “Bridging Nature-Inspired Learning and Neural Information Processing” in Neural Processing Letters (2013 Impact Factor: 1.237)
The purpose of this special issue (SI) is to identify the inherent relationship between Nature-Inspired Learning (e.g., swarm intelligence and evolutionary algorithms) and Neural Information Processing and to bridge these two exciting research areas for building hybrid learning systems with even stronger capability. Submissions of papers describing original work in, but not limited to, the following topics are enthusiastically encouraged.
? Neuro-biological systems
? Evolutionary neural systems
? Natural-inspired learning for artificial neural networks
? Natural-inspired learning for support vector machines
? Natural computing for data clustering
? Natural computing for principal and independent component analysis
? Nature-inspired optimization incorporating chaotic theory
? Applications of hybrid systems of natural computing and neural networks

Instructions for Submissions
All papers should be submitted via the journal website (http://link.springer.com/journal/11063), where templates can be downloaded. In "Editorial Manager" (the submission software used for the journal), select the category "SI: nature-inspired". All submitted papers will be reviewed by experts in the field based on their originality, significance, relevance, and presentation. Papers extended from ICNC-FSKD 2014 conference versions should have at least 50% different materials, in both theory and experiments, from their conference versions (a clear list of these different materials should be included in the submission).
ICNC-FSKD 2015 Call for Papers
We cordially invite you to submit a paper to the upcoming 2015 11th International Conference on Natural Computation (ICNC 2015) and 2015 12th International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (FSKD 2015), to be jointly held from 15-17 August 2015 in Zhangjiajie, China (http://icnc-fskd.hnu.edu.cn/ ).
Zhangjiajie is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an AAAAA (the highest class) scenic area in China. Towering sandstones mesas, dense forests, and deep ravines form the gorgeous and mysterious natural landscape. With many spectacularly-shaped stone pillars, hidden valleys, seas of cloud, majestic waterfalls, wandering streams, clear lakes, and limestone caves, Wulingyuan is a must-see in China. Avatar, James Cameron’s block-buster movie, did much of its filming in these beautiful mountains.
As with the past ICNC-FSKD conferences, all papers in conference proceedings will be submitted to both EI Compendex and ISTP (ISI Proceedings), as well as IEEE Xplore. Extended versions of selected best papers will appear in an ICNC-FSKD special issue of International Journal on Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence, a SCI-index journal.
