Special Issue on: High Performance Computation on Hardware Accelerators"
Hardware accelerators are increasingly becoming an alternative or complementary platform for general-purpose computation due to their inherent parallelism and enhanced programmability. Different types of hardware accelerators exist, including graphics processing units, field-programmable gate arrays, cell processors and vector processors, which offer significant performance improvements for applications that will depend on careful design and implementation. Each of these technical approaches has different performance characteristics, as well as other practical aspects such as electrical consumption, physical interfaces and cost.
The Computer Journal is soliciting submissions based on an open call for papers for high performance computation on hardware accelerators, including, but not limited to, graphics processing units, field-programmable gate arrays, cell processors and vector processors. The main objective is to highlight the leading research efforts in this area.
Submission Guidelines
Only high quality original papers that are not or have not been submitted for publication elsewhere will be considered. Instructions for submission can be found here.
The submitted papers should be formatted according to the journal style and submitted via the journal web-based submission route at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/compj. Each paper should be accompanied by a cover letter indicating that the submission is for “the Special Issue on High Performance Computation on Hardware Accelerators”. Please also forward a PDF version of the complete manuscript with its serial number to hongli-AT-cs.ucsb.edu.
All submitted papers will be rigorously reviewed based on the basis of originality, quality and relevance to this Special Issue and the journal.
