MTBS 2015 - International Workshop on Mathematical Tools in Biological Systems
Topics/Call fo Papers
Biological systems present a big challenge for mathematical modeling. This is due to several factors. The nature of the biological systems themselves, i.e. being multiphase, multicomponent complex systems, often denying strict and deterministic mathematical modeling analysis.
Another factor is the attitude of the colleagues of Biology, an attitude shared also by Chemists. Without being innocent of Mathematics we could say that they don’t feel comfortable with this branch of Science appreciated so much in other field, as for example in Physics and Engineering.
This session has the ambition to fill , to some extent, of course the gap.
Topics
1. Computational Assessment of Antioxidant Capacity Assays, by Vlasios Goulas and Vassilis Gekas
2. Information Theory as a Potential Therapeutic Tool in Cancer Treatment, by Nikos Gikas and Marina Kardara
3. Multifactorial Analysis of the Effects of Drying on the Properties of Aromatic Herbs, by Antia Orphanides and V. Gekas
4. Synergy Effects in Abiotic- and biotic Plant Stress Procedures by Chrystalla Antoniou, by Antia Orphanides and Vassilis Fotopoulos
